We, the Kirat People are indigenous ethnic group of the Eastern part of Himalayan region of Nepal and extending globally. As the Kirat communities are growing in the United States of America, we thought that our community should be well organized for the betterment of our generations and future generations by improving the quality of life through awareness and demonstration in maintaining the active involvement of each individual in every public sector professionally, to become an independent, and productive citizen of the United States. However, it is not possible to uplift each other without forming an organization collectively. Therefore, the individual Kirat communities formed a National Nonprofit Corporation (Kirat Community Organization of America, Inc.) in Nashville, Tennessee in the year of 2016 and registered the corporation in Akron, Ohio on Jan 11, 2019. The Corporation is organized exclusively and is to be operated exclusively for charitable, religious, and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The primary purpose of establishing this corporation is to practice, preserve, and promote Kirat script, language, culture, and religion. KCOA fully assists, educates, and supports the members of Kirat Communities as well as other communities living in the United States of America. In addition, the KCOA also educates surrounding communities to enrich the cultural heritage and traditions of the Kirat Community.
